Shaping Tomorrow Together in Faith: A Celebration of Family, School, and System Partnerships 

On Thursday, 18 September 2025 marked a significant moment for Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) as we warmly welcomed over 90 guests to the annual Catholic Schools Parents Leadership Evening, a special evening dedicated to strengthening partnerships between families, schools, and system leaders. 

Held in the spirit of “Shaping Tomorrow Together in Faith,” the event brought together parent and carer representatives from across our 45 schools, spanning the Central Coast, North Shore, and Northern Beaches. Attendees included members of our schools’ Parent Engagement Teams, Catholic Schools Parents representatives, System Leaders, CSBB Workstream and Precinct Leads, and special guests including: 

  • Danny Casey, Director of Schools
  • Father David Ranson, Vicar General and Chair of the CSBB Board
  • Cath Garrett-Jones and Anne Fehon, Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT 

Celebrating Progress and Shared Purpose 

The evening was an opportunity to share updates, celebrate achievements, and deepen collaboration across our community. Highlights included: 

Strategic Direction & Vision 

  • Building on Towards 2025, CSBB reaffirmed its commitment to a bold and visionary future.
  • A focus on delivering a seamless Baptism to Post-School Journey for students and families.
  • Prioritising wellbeing, inclusive education, staff development, and student outcomes. 

Early Childhood Education & Care (ECEC)

  • Plans to expand into Early Learning Centres and Out of School Hours Care services in 2026.
  • A strong commitment to meeting local community needs and supporting early learning foundations. 

Inclusive Education 

  • Growth of the Eileen O’Connor Catholic School network to support students with disabilities.
  • New facilities planned in Northbridge and Tuggerah. 

Precinct Updates 

  • Precinct Leads shared exciting developments including:
  • New builds and refurbishments
  • Expanded K–12 pathways
  • Enhanced support for students with additional needs
  • Exploration of ECEC opportunities 

AI & the Digital Generation: Safety, Ethics & Innovation 

CSBB continues to lead in digital education, with: 

  • Over 300 CSBB parents participating in a NSW University study on screen use in education.
  • Development of an AI Toolkit grounded in Catholic values, supporting ethical and critical thinking.
  • Parent workshops on eSafety, screen time, and digital literacy, referencing the Commonwealth Office of eSafety. 

Family Partnership & Engagement 

  • Updates from the Chief Parent Officer on advocacy and the Family Journey Framework.
  • Presentations from Cath Garrett-Jones and the Council of Catholic School Parents NSW/ACT.
  • Opportunities for parents to engage in consultation and join the Council.
