The Exemplary Teacher Grant offers financial support and dedicated mentoring to high‑achieving final‑year and new graduate teachers as they complete their studies and begin their teaching journey.
About the Program
The Exemplary Teacher Grant provides high‑achieving current penultimate and final‑year (undergraduate and postgraduate) teacher education students with a one‑off $5,000 payment, a dedicated mentor teacher, and a guaranteed full‑time, permanent position in a CSBB school. Students in their penultimate year also receive one day per week of paid teaching employment while completing their studies, while final-year students move straight into a full‑time teaching role commencing 2027.
Eligibility Criteria
We’re seeking exceptional future teachers who demonstrate strong academic performance and professional readiness. The Exemplary Teacher Grants are open to undergraduate and postgraduate primary or secondary teacher education students who meet the following criteria:
- Conditionally accredited with NESA (or eligible to apply by the end of 2026)
- Successful completion of both elements of LANTITE
- Successful Professional Experience placements
- Currently in the final or penultimate year of a teacher education degree at an Australian university
- A strong academic record (preferred credit-average or above preferred)
Financial Support
- $5,000 one-off payment paid at the start of the program
- Paid employment (1 day per week) as a conditionally accredited teacher for any remaining period of study
