Targeted Teacher Internship (TTI) 

The Targeted Teacher Internship offers high‑performing Initial Teacher Education (ITE) students a supported, school‑embedded pathway through their final two years of study, strengthening their practical skills and professional readiness.   

 

 

About the Program 

For current second-year undergraduate ITE students, the Targeted Teacher Internship offers $10,000 in financial support across the final two years of a four-year teaching degree.  Interns also work one day per week as a paid classroom assistant under the guidance of a mentor teacher, increasing to two days per week as a conditionally accredited teacher in their final year of study.  Successful interns are guaranteed full-time, permanent employment with CSBB upon graduation.

  • Learning Support
  • Primary:
  • Religious Education
  • Special Education 

Eligibility Criteria 

We are committed to excellence and we’re looking for future teachers who share that commitment.  Applicants should meet the following criteria: 

  • Currently in the second year of an undergraduate ITE degree (entering third year in 2027) with a maintained credit-average
  • Specialising in one of the listed subject areas
  • Successful completion of both elements of LANTITE
  • Successful Professional Experience placements 

To continue in the internship program, candidates will need to maintain a credit average and satisfactory grades in all Professional Experience Placements. 

Financial Support 

  • $10,000 over two years - $5,000 per year for two consecutive years of study in a NSW Initial Teacher Education program.
  • Paid employment (1 day per week) as a classroom assistant under the Learning Support Assistant classification in the first year
  • Paid employment (2 days per week) as a conditionally accredited teacher in the final year of study
