North Shore Review Announcement May 2024

June 6, 2024

As part of Towards 2025, and in close alignment with the pastoral discernment work being undertaken by Diocese of Broken Bay, we are excited to announce the launch of the CSBB North Shore Review. Building on the learnings and success of the review of schools in the Northern beaches, this initiative is aimed at enriching the educational landscape within our schools in the North Shore/Chatswood region.

CSBB has recently established a Strategic Working Party which will review current and emerging community needs and assessing how well these are currently met by CSBB schools on the North Shore. The schools included in this review are Mercy College Chatswood, Our Lady Dolours Chatswood, St Philip Neri Northbridge, St Thomas Willoughby, Holy Family Lindfield, Sacred Heart Pymble, Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, West Pymble, and Corpus Christi St Ives.

The process will include wide consultation among parents, staff, clergy and members of the local Parish communities. We also plan to engage with Religious Institute schools in the area to share ideas and to look for opportunities for alignment and collaboration. As a first step, the Working Party will gather insights into community needs and perceptions to develop recommendations which will enhance opportunities for our students, both present and future. Shortly, you will be invited to provide your feedback through surveys and face-to-face interactions at your Parishes and Schools. Your participation is invaluable as your insights will help shape the future of Catholic education across the North Shore.

Community consultation is currently scheduled to commence early Term 3 with initial feedback being provided later in Term 4 of this year.

Thank you for your support and engagement in this initiative. It is important that together, we take this opportunity to explore the possibilities for the enhancement and renewal of Catholic education in the North Shore.
