2014 EMU Leadership Strand – Outcomes, Achievements and Key Learnings

November 24, 2014

Dr Ann Gervasoni (Australian Catholic University, Ballarat) recently joined school leaders and teachers involved in Extending Mathematical Understanding (EMU) as they presented the outcomes and achievements of their 2014 learning.

The presentations included reflections upon and analysis of the journey undertaken to develop leadership of learning, effective use of diagnostic assessment, strong working knowledge of the Growth Point Framework to inform point of need teaching, and first and second wave intervention.  The presentations also focused on the impact that innovation in Mathematics teaching practice has had on student learning.  In most instances, this impact has been significant.

Each school was allocated a display area to present a ‘learning fair’ which showcased resources, photos, evidence of progress, alignment to School Improvement Plan (SIP) goals and parent engagement.
