Flexible Learning Environment

November 25, 2016

Depending on what they need to do that day theYear 5 and 6 (Stage 3) students can work on couches, armchairs, bean bags or at a stand-up work station, as well as at a traditional desk, giving the room a relaxed feeling and greater flexibility.

These Stage 3 students are co-taught by Monica Officer and Nick Dowler, who emphasise thinking skills from the ‘Habits of Mind’ and ‘Visible Thinking’ programs.

The new flexible learning space is designed to target individual learning needs and styles as well as develop students’ independent thinking and communications skills. It also fosters collaboration and problem-solving.
