The Annual Catholic Schools Broken Bay Public Speaking Competition Grand Final was held in Term 3 at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Pymble, and what a spectacular showcase of talent by each of our Finalists.
All 36 Primary schools in the Diocese participated with over 1000 Year 6 students competing in their local catholic school public speaking competition. This resulted in 12 finalists competing at the Grand Final level.
On the Grand Final event, each Finalist delivered a 3-minute prepared speech, followed by a 3-minute impromptu speech. The adjudicators included Danny Casey, Director of Schools; Elizabeth Calabria, Strategy Lead for Student Achievement and Nathan Tilbury, Councillor at Hornsby Shire Council. Each judge was faced with the difficult job of determining the winners given the extraordinary level of talent on the night!
