CatholicCare provides assistance to families during Covid-19

April 2, 2020

CatholicCare is the social care and support agency of the Catholic Church across the Diocese of Broken Bay – assisting children, young people and adults to live more enriched lives.

SERVICES AVAILABLE TO BROKEN BAY FAMILIES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

CatholicCare services are available to school families. They are here to support you during the current COVID-19 crisis, and ongoing.

CatholicCare services include:

FAMILY CENTRES

Counselling including financial counselling, parenting groups and education, family dispute resolution and mediation, domestic and family violence support, housing and homelessness support, relationship education, emergency relief and more.

CHILDREN’S SERVICES

Early learning and care centres, out of school hours care, vacation care and family day care.

DISABILITY & NDIS SUPPORT

Social and recreational programs, afternoon and vacation care for children, an accommodation service, the Boonah Creative Arts Program and support coordination services.

FOSTER CARE

Providing a safe and nurturing home to a child or young person unable to live with their own family.

PERMANENCY SUPPORT PROGRAM

Foster care and residential care services for children and young people unable to live with their families.

AGED CARE SERVICES

HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY & PASTORAL CARE

Bringing spiritual comfort and companionship to those whose lives have been impacted by accident or illness.

CatholicCare is working hard to keep their doors open to those in need – their clients, our school families, staff and our wider communities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. While CatholicCare currently has minimal staff at each of their hub sites, they can be contacted and have developed alternative ways to offer services, recognising the increase in need at this time.

Contact CatholicCare if you need:

Counselling, Psychology or Allied Health support. They offer Medicare funded services including bulk billing to families.
Financial counselling.
Housing support.
Domestic violence supports.
Emergency relief – to support those in immediate need.

They can connect with you via phone or video link so you do not have to travel. Anyone can access support from the safety of their home.
