Dear Staff, students and families,
As we approach Easter and the end of this term shortly after, I just wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our staff, students, and families for their amazing support during the first term of 2024. The year has commenced briskly and is now very much in full swing. To our exceptional teachers and staff: your dedication to our students is truly inspiring. Thank you for everything you do to help them learn and grow. And to our families: we’re so grateful for your trust in us to guide your children. We take that responsibility seriously and we are so grateful to be walking alongside you and your children at this important time of their lives. I’m really proud of the progress we’ve made with our Towards 2025 Strategy. This term, significant strides have been made in advancing our K-12 precinct on the Northern Beaches and we are excitedly preparing to welcome girls at St Pauls in 2025. Additionally, I am delighted to announce the launch of our Eileen O’Connor Catholic School for students with disability. This initiative unveiled at the recent Bishop’s Breakfast hosted by Bishop Anthony Randazzo, Bishop of Broken Bay marks a significant milestone in our commitment to inclusivity and support for all students. The establishment of this Diocesan-wide School, catering to students with a disability from Kindergarten to Year 12 through a new campus base school as well as a network of support classes strategically located on the Central Coast, Northern Beaches and the North Shore within Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) sites demonstrates our dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our community. As usual Term 1 has been busy with activities such as sports, school camps, and NAPLAN. We hosted our inaugural Catholic Schools Broken Bay Combined Swimming Championships, where I was excited to do some race calling – what swimming talent we have in our Diocese! Our second Belong Day event for Year 7s was a resounding success, providing a warm and inspiring welcome to our newest secondary students. It was a privilege to meet them and welcome them to high school life in Broken Bay. As we approach Easter and the term draws to a close a few weeks after, I encourage you all to take some time to reflect on the significance of the special days, the great sacrifice that we witness and the wonderful joy of the Resurrection of Jesus.
May this Easter bring you renewed hope and joy and an opportunity to catch up with family and friends. I wish you well for the final weeks of term and reconnecting again in Term 2.
