Kindergarten students from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School, Forestville and St Mary’s Catholic School, Manly have taken part in Taronga Zoo’s community art exhibition, Taronga Wild! Rhino by decorating their own rhino calf sized sculptures.
Their artworks complemented their class work on animals as well as sustainability.
Both decorated rhinos formed part of the Taronga Wild! Rhinos trail raising funds and public awareness for rhino conservation. The rhinos are on display at Taronga Zoo in Sydney and then Warriewood Mall during February. The students are looking forward to the rhino sculptures returning to their schools as enduring mementos.
