Solid Foundations

November 10, 2014

St Paul’s Catholic College Manly are on target to officially open ‘The Waterford Hall’ on the 50th Anniversary of the school in August next year. The concrete slab has been poured for the brand new two storey, multi-purpose hall which will also feature music, visual art, food technology and hospitality areas.

North block refurbishments were completed last year and and once the hall construction is complete next year, the College will feature brand new, state of the art facilities to accommodate its 700 students.

Parents and Friends treasurer, Mrs Tina Szymanski said “It has been many years coming and the topic of most conversations. Our current President of the P&F, Mr Biasi is a St Paul’s ‘old boy’ and remembers staff talking about the hall when he was a student at the College.”

She said “Over the years there have been many students, teachers, principals, P&F committee members and office staff who have all worked tirelessly to get to this point. The pouring of the concrete for the foundations is a tribute to everyone who has dreamed about St Paul’s having a hall”

This is the biggest building project undertaken at the College since the school’s inception in 1965. Worth $7.5 million, it will inject a significant amount of money into the local economy. Principal Mark Baker says “Our aim is to further improve and strengthen our results, our culture and the physical resources of the College: continually building a better school.”
